Краткая справка
Университет имеет великолепную репутацию  и является 5-м университетом по популярности среди студентов Великобритании и Евросоюза. Ему трудно соревноваться в рейтингах со старыми традиционными университетами, но, тем не менее, он считается одним из лучших среди бывших политехнических. Многие программы университета имеют профессиональную направленность, и практика является неотъемлемой частью учебного процесса. В университете есть своё рекрутинговое агентство, помогающее студентам в трудоустройстве как по окончанию университета, так и во время учёбы. Среди партнёров университета более 2.500 работодателей.
Университет предлагает большое количество волонтёрских программ на местном, национальном и международном уровне. Студенческий Центр Предпринимателей помогает развитию и осуществлению самых смелых бизнес идей.
Здесь великолепное компьютерное оборудование и новая библиотека, математическое кафе, 3 спортивных центра. Все студенты могут бесплатно изучать иностранные языки и таким образом получить дополнительно 20 учебных кредитов в год.
Университет постоянно развивается и улучшает свою инфраструктуру. В 2017 году открывается новый инженерный комплекс Future Technology Centre, строительство которого осуществилось благодаря полученному гранту на 11 млн. фунтов. Уже сейчас 8.500 студентов учатся на различных программах STEM ( science, technology, engineering, maths). Открытие нового центра приведёт к ещё большему интересу к инженерным наукам со стороны студентов. Университет славится своими программами медицинского направления. Ежегодно здесь выпускаются 600 специалистов в области радиографии, фармацевтики, медицинских технологий.

Университет предлагает целый ряд программ по новым специальностям, которые не найти в старых традиционных университетах, такие как: туризм и гостиничный менеджмент, логистика, средства массовой информации и др. За последние 6 лет преподаватели университета 3 раза награждались за выдающиеся успехи в обучении студентов.
Студенческий Союз университета располагает новыми помещениями (проект на 6.5 млн фунтов) и предлагает огромное количество клубов и секций. В распоряжении студентов современные спортивные сооружения, танцевальные студии, игровые площадки.
Университет располагает современными общежитиями. Все комнаты на одного, многие  - со всеми удобствами. Первокурсникам место в общежитии гарантируется.
